Creek lies in the ancient soils of Tasmania's
Coal River Valley. Each vintage, small crops
of cool climate wine grapes are hand-selected
for their intensity of color, aroma and flavor,
and made into wines of exceptional quality and
freshness.
The
underlying strength and success of Pages Creek
Wines for more than two generations has been
its belief that wine is made in the country
- cultivated and crafted by people with skill
and tradition who live and love the vine - not
through acquisitions and mergers in corporate
boardrooms.
The
wines are made nearby at Winemaking Tasmania,
a modern facility headed by one of Tasmania's
most experienced winemakers, using a combination
of state of the art equipment and traditional
techniques. The highest quality oak from France's
famed forests is used to mature the wines. The
tiny first vintage of 2002 was enjoyed at Sue
and Peters wedding. The first full harvest was
the 2003 vintage and the Pages Creek label was
launched the following year.
The
2003 vintage is currently available under the
Pages Creek Regional Collection range.

| Chardonnay,
the great white grape of Burgundy
and Champagne, is a hearty traveller
capable of producing wines of
quality and character in viticultural
regions the world over. However
it is in such a special cool growing
location, similar to its home
regions, that this noble variety
really struts its stuff. Star
bright appearance. The nose displays
abundant varietal character of
juicy nectarine, peach, lime and
honeydew, delicious and textured
with a spine of acidity; it is
harmonious and long. |

Pinot Noir clones 2051 and 8104
planted in dark reactive cracking
clay, dolerite colluvium, on top
of reworked tertiary sediment
that filled the valley millions
of years ago. The fruit was de-stemmed,
fermented over ten days and then
matured in oak barrels for 227
days. The nose shows varietal
black cherry, red berries and
plum with notes of forest floor,
thyme and smoky oak. The palate
displays typical Tasmanian pinot
characters of black cherry and
spice, plus plum and blackberry,
good acid structure and balance,
finishing with gentle tannins.

| The
vibrant lipstick colour, highlighted
by the clear bottle, immediately
signals the fun intentions of
this fabulous Rosé style. Sweet
red berried and spicy varietal
fruit aromas, with overtones of
fruit pastille and mocha. The
palate displays fresh and delicious
fruity flavours fleshed out with
judicious retentions of some of
the natural grape sugars, finishing
dry and spicy. The estate grown
fruit was combined with juice
from other vineyards around the
state to increase the flavour
spectrum, while a little bottle
age has given complexity and mellowness
